![]() ![]() The way he does it is hilarious and a great piece of tongue n’ cheek humour which was all the way through the movie. One of my favourite Al moments is in Die Hard when he’s defending the Nakatomi Plaza from the cops he stands next to the candy stall, looks furtively around then steals a candy bar and eats it. He’s also died more than most other actors on screen, in fact someone has actually put together a “death reel” of all of his best death scenes… isn’t that nice?Īl Leong now has a book out entitled “The Eight Lives of Al “Ka-Bong” Leong” where he shares private photos, along with “behind the scenes” stories, and personal anecdotes of his many lives. With his recognisable long hair and Fu Manchu style mustache, action movies just ain’t right without him. Not only does he act, but he’s also a stuntman. He would mostly play the mute henchman, but he does get to speak briefly in Lethal Weapon. The Scorpion King, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, The Replacement Killers, Escape from LA, Joshua Tree, The Last Action Hero, Rapid Fire, Death Warrant, Black Rain, They Live, Action Jackson and many, many more. Sure, his name isn’t as well known as Arnie or Sly but he has been in practically all of the best action movies of all time. AL LEONG HENCHMAN STORY MOVIEI give this movie a B.If ever there’s a man who deserves a nod of respect it’s Al Leong. That's all anyone can ask for in a documentary. He provided the stunts and the action in many classic pictures. Al Leong lead an amazing life and his presence in films and entertainment is insurmountable. It has also aged gracefully while still retaining the spirit of the early 90s in music and design. But this documentary really made me want to go back and watch Rapid Fire and Brandon Lee's filmography before The Crow. I almost wish they didn't include it at all. There is a brief bit about The Crow but it is inconsequential to the story of Al Leong. It goes into detail about what this fight meant to Al. I did enjoy the bit on the Rapid Fire fight with Brandon Lee before his death. It's not a good movie but it is fun to watch. I watched Double Dragon so many times when I was but a wee lad. It does this for all of Al's famous movies. It says a few things on what Al ended up doing in the movie. One of my favorite movies is Big Trouble in Little China and this movie does a bit on Big Trouble in Little China. But naturally nothing would have come from it if Al Leong was just ordinary. It could also be right place, right time kind of thing. This is key to what led him into stunt work. The movie does go into detail about what he specialized in weapons training. Along with this and his incredibly distinct look(the long hair and the Fu Manchu moustache) is why we remember him. ![]() He gives one hundred percent to every role he takes. ![]() He is determined and focused on what he sets his mind to. He seems to be a real fun loving guy and this is pretty much his entire story. Al is an actor who loves his fans more than most in the movie industry. Your help will bring this documentary to life. He originally is interested in martial arts and then goes right into riding bikes. The Henchman: The Al Leong Story documentary is the ultimate tribute to the greatest henchman in film history, Al Leong, who suffered a stroke that prevents him from performing. I would almost say I wanted to know more about Al Leong and what led him to stunt work. This is the core of what a documentary is. How well does it deliver the information and how much you get from it. I think it might be because documentaries are typically about delivery, information and entertainment. I couldn't necessarily tell you the reason. Now normally I don't review documentaries. ![]() So I'm the audience for this documentary. I love Big Trouble in Little China and I remember these action films from my time watching 90s TBS. Now you might not know his name but if you've seen any 80s action film or Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure then you know the man that this documentary is about. ![]()
